In this instance we want to edit an existing attribute, which is called "option" - this might be used for pack sizes or variants of a product. We are going to add a value for this attribute.

To add or edit a product option, in the Magento admin, go to Stores > Attributes > Product.

In the Product Attributes section, under "Attribute Code", search for "option" (substitute the name of your attribute here, if different), then click on it to edit the attribute.

Under "Manage Options (Values of Your Attribute)", scroll down till you see the "Add Option" button.

Click on "Add Option", and enter your new value, in the left hand column as per other options, or edit existing values as required.

Click either "Save and Continue Edit" or "Save Attribute" at top right.

After this you will need to clear the cache - follow the link that appears in the message at the top of the page, and click "Flush Magento Cache".
The attribute with its updated attribute value(s) will now be available for selection when editing a product.
