To put a WordPress site into maintenance mode, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to your cPanel - see our article about logging into cPanel for more information
  2. Once logged in, scroll down to the Domains section and click on WordPress Management
  3. Information about the WordPress site(s) installed in the cPanel account will be displayed.
  4. At the bottom of the information panel for the relevant site, click the Maintenance mode toggle switch.
  5. To disable Maintenance mode, click the toggle switch again to bring the site back online.
